the last launch 2001

we missed bufroc II (ditziness). we missed the october geneseo launch (again, ditziness). we were primed for rocketry and with concerted effort kept the date for the syracuse rocket club's season finale in the forefronts of our brains. our first thoughts on the morning of october 20th were of the wiegand farm. unfortunately, chagrin then prevailed when we observed the State of The Weather in ithaker, which basically looked like this:

amazingly, atmospheric conditions were more promising in syracuse, a city acknowledged as the epicenter of malignant weather in central new york. ron's notice on the web site was full of promise and revealed the Red Truck was being loaded to head out to the site. happy happy joy ensued in the red house next to the whoajeeeeezus building, and we ventured off to syracuse.

the red truck atop the hill. life is good.

this is the rocket we built the week before the launch.

the scale thwarted our plans to fly the beast.
